Hello ASK ESP Members,

Just a week left of the 2009/2010 school year! We're heading to a very busy summer with all the construction and renovation going on, but first need to finish up with graduations and retirements and just getting those kids out the door for the last time.

ASK ESP and SKPS did sign a Memorandum of Understanding that rolls over 16 hours plus June's vacation accrual amount, and the time will be available for use in July. All additional vacation hours beyond the 16+ will be paid out. This does affect less than 12 month employees only. You will need to get approval from your supervisors to use the vacation time.

We have accomplished a few things this year, including developing this website! Kudos to Aaron Harada for his hard work, and for making it possible for us to reach the goal of another method of communicating with our members. We are working hard to gather email addresses so that if we're in a pinch we can send out an email to your HOME address. Please send an email to janet.sanders@skace.org with your current home email address.

Insurance rates, as you have heard, are going up substantially. The Insurance Committee worked very hard to make the best choices for everyone. A brief synopsis of the rates will be posted on this site, and if you have further questions, please call the Benefits Office at 503.399.5556.

Budget news is looking gloomy. Stay tuned. We'll call the Budget Crisis Team together as needed, and do our best to stay in touch with you via this website and via email, so keep checking back.
