SKACE Representative Assembly Has Heart

Representatives from across our Association met on Monday, September 21, 2009, at the Support Services Center in the first Assembly for this school year. Discussions ranged from computer use to committees, and then a suggestion was made to assist our fellow members by bringing a can of food to each SKACE sponsored meeting. The Transportation Department has started a Helping Hands Committee who is finding creative ways to help out those who are having a hard time making ends meet, so SKACE Reps will be able to boost the Helping Hands' efforts.

In more detail regarding the agenda:

Computer Use: The district is asking all employees to review acceptable computer use and sign a revised form that will be kept on file. Acceptable use of the computer means remembering that the computers you use at work do not belong to you and if needed, records from your computer can be accessed and examined. Always remember to log off your computer when you are away from it; do not put student information in emails; and use your computer wisely.

Committees: SKACE has a number of committees and task forces, some of which have vacancies. A task force is typically a short term commitment assigned to one task, while committees can have various time commitments. If you are interested in find out more, let us know.

Budget Info: October 9th is an unpaid day, but your vacation and sick leave accrual will not be affected.
